Analytical balances generally refer to balances that can accurately weigh to ±0.0001g, including electronic analytical balances (electronic balances), single-pan analytical balances, electro-optical analytical balances, etc. Among them, electronic analytical balance is one of the commonly used instruments in biochemistry laboratories.
Preparations before using the laboratory electronic analytical balance are as follows:
1. Check whether the analytical balance is level. If it is not level, rotate the foot screw of the balance so that the bubble in the level is in the center, and the balance will be level;
2. Carefully check whether all parts of the analytical balance are in the correct position. After the balance is turned on, the pointer begins to swing to rest, and its swing should not exceed four times;
3. Open the side doors on both sides of the analytical balance for 5 to 10 minutes to balance the humidity and temperature inside and outside to avoid changes in the indication due to differences in temperature and humidity between the inside and outside of the balance cover, and close the side doors;
4. Check whether the balance pan is clean. If there is dust, use a brush to sweep it away;
5. Check whether all the weights are at the zero position, start and turn off the balance several times to make all parts fall into the normal position, and adjust the zero point of the balance.
The analytical balance is suitable for food industry, clothing and textiles, pharmaceuticals, scientific research and other fields for precise measurement and analysis. It is mainly used for the weighing of test samples and reference substances as well as the calibration of titrants in content determination.
